Sons of the Forest Zipline Gun

Sons of the Forest Zipline Location: Where Is the Rope Gun?

The Sons of the Forest zipline gun, otherwise known as the rope gun, is an important key item that is easy to miss. Not only will the zipline gun let you traverse the rocky areas and cliffs of the map much more easily, but you’ll need it to access other items as well like the shovel. The location of this rope gun is at the end of a cave and will require just a few weapons to get through it.

Where is the Sons of the Forest zipline gun?

sons of the forest

The Sons of the Forest zipline is found as a reward at the end of a cave system.

The location of the cave is to the west of the snowy mountains. There is a path that carves through the middle of the lake, with the road going down a bit before you hit an entrance that’s blocked by some wood planks. Using an axe on the planks is easy enough. We’ve seen this entrance may or may not be covered in snow, so your playthrough may be differ.

The cave system is long and dark, so you’ll likely want to pull out your flashlight. But there shouldn’t be too many threats here, though enemies are a bit random. The only main threat is a blob-like monster that blocks a path, but there is a corpse nearby with several time bombs that will make quick work of this enemy. After that, it’s clear sailing until you find the zipline gun on a rock.
