Pokemon Sword and Shield False Swipe Location (TM94)

Teaching your Pokemon the best possible moves to complement the team and keep them viable in battle is, and always has been, a huge part of the series. This can be done by putting Pokemon in your Party and actively using them in battle, having them naturally acquire moves as they level up. An alternate method of doing so, however, is through the use of TRs and TMs (here’s everything you need to know on those). One particularly useful Technical Machine is TM94 containing False Swipe, so stick with us to learn the Pokemon Sword and Shield False Swipe location.

How to learn False Swipe in Pokemon Sword and Shield

While exploring the Galar region, many eagle-eyed Pokemon Trainers will have noticed Pokeballs contain items littered around the environment. Some of these are hidden in more obscure places and have a golden tint that indicates they hold either a Technical Machine (TM) or a Technical Record (TR). Not all TMs and TRs are gathered in such a way, though; some merchants also sell an exclusive stock.

This is the case for Pokemon Sword and Shield TM94 False Swipe, which is stocked by the trader standing behind the rightmost desk in the Pokemon Center northwest of Motostoke (upper left). For 10,000 Pokedollars he’ll sell you False Swipe, which is a move that prevents the opposing Pokemon from being defeated in battle.

Here’s the full False Swipe move description:

A restrained attack that prevents the target from fainting. The target is left with at least 1 HP.

Although this maneuver won’t do you much good in Trainer battles, it can be a real boon when battling wild Pokemon that you’re looking to catch. Pokemon are more likely to be caught when they have low HP, so being able to reduce them to the lowest possible value without causing them to faint will make a successful catch more likely than ever.
