Fallout 76 Wood

Fallout 76 Wood – How to Get Wood

Fallout 76 is out now, and players all over the world are enjoying exploring, killing, and crafting new delightful gear for their characters. One thing you’ll quickly discover is that Fallout 76 wood is vastly important in the game. Whether you’re cooking some delightful meals or just getting up in the morning, everyone needs wood, but how do you get wood? We’ll show you how to get wood, if you’ll stop all that giggling.

How to Get Wood in Fallout 76

Fallout 76 wood can be found all over the place in West Virginia, which is good news, but it’s not always altogether obvious how to get it. Unlike Minecraft you can’t simply chop down one of the many trees in the game and harvest it, which we’re sure many players have tried to do. Wood can be bought from a few vendors or just in random containers, but otherwise the resource is available in two places: wood piles and fallen trees.

Go up to any wood pile or certain types of fallen tree (not all of them, sadly) and the game will give you a prompt to tell you what it is. When that comes up just “Use” it and you’ll gather wood from it. You can’t gather more for the rest of that play session, but you can go back later and do it again. It’s not gone away permanently. You’ll just need to keep an eye out for it.

Why Do You Need Fallout 76 Wood?

Wood in Fallout 76 is vital to a lot of crafting, but in particular it’s needed whenever you cook literally anything in the game. Cooking is possibly the most vital crafting skill, since you have a hunger and thirst meter and will always need food and drink. Boiling or purifying water also needs wood, so it’s really the most basic, essential resource in Fallout 76. Gather as much wood as you can, basically.
