Fortnite Best Keybinds: What Should I Map My Keys To?

Fortnite continues to be one of the world’s most popular games, and with new patches and new content being added all the time, that popularity isn’t going down any time soon. Therefore if you want to play on PC you’ll need to be as good as you can be, starting with keybinds. But what are the Fortnite best keybinds? Let’s have a look.

What are the Fortnite Best Keybinds?

First off, remember that none of these keybinds are set in stone. If you use one key more than others and you’re finding a suggestion of ours is proving uncomfortable, just change it. Alternatively you may be really good at Fortnite already and have your own control setup, in which case feel free to make keybind suggestions in the comments below, but by no means feel compelled to change the way you play. If it works for you, keep it. On the other hand, if you’re only just starting in Fortnite PC and want a good keybinding setup, we’re here to help.

First of all, in general you’ll want to keep all your major keybinds centred around your movement keys, which for this we’ll assume are WASD. While we don’t know how many mouse buttons you have, we’ll keep it to the basics of LMB, RMB, MMB and a mouse wheel. You should really try to get a mouse with two side-buttons, which is fast becoming a gaming standard, but we won’t assume you have that.

  • Harvesting Tool: F
  • Weapon Slot 1: 2
  • Weapon Slot 2: 3
  • Weapon Slot 3: 4
  • Weapon Slot 4: Q
  • Weapon Slot 5: X
  • Wall: B
  • Floor: N
  • Stairs: V
  • Roof: T
  • Trap: 5

If you add two extra mouse buttons, you can change “Wall” and “Stairs” to them, as they’re the most commonly used structures. This leaves you free to change “Floor” and “Roof” to keys “B” and “V,” which is far more convenient. The final tip we have is to get practicing with this setup first on the Playground. You don’t want to get into a combat situation until you’re used to your new controls.
